Injilinji NAIDOC Cultural Trivia Night 2023
Injilinji has been staging the annual NAIDOC Cultural Trivia Quiz in Mount Isa since 2013. On Monday 3rd July 2023, some 14 teams, each consisting of 5 members, gathered for a night of fun where friends and family tested their knowledge on a variety of cultural subjects. Highlighting the theme ‘For Our Elders’, the 2023 event was the biggest to date.
Promoted as an educational, recreational forum within the Mount Isa community, encouraging participation by all, the NAIDOC Cultural Trivia Quiz provides an opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate NAIDOC, share and showcase First Nations culture, history, issues and languages, honour Elders, strengthen social networks and relationships in a positive atmosphere and build bridges between Indigenous and non-indigenous people of the community, providing positive outcomes for the First Nations community
