Therapy Dog Jeff Visits Injilinji Aged Care

On Tuesday 25th November 2025, Kara Thompson and Therapy Dog, Jeff, visited Injilinji Aged Care Resident Elders, and what a heart-warming morning it was.

As soon as Jeff trotted through the doors, the residents’ faces lit up with the most beautiful smiles.

It wasn’t long before stories began to flow and tales of beloved dogs from years past, cherished memories, and the special bond they shared with their own furry companions. Jeff soaked up every pat, cuddle, and kind word, and you could truly feel the joy in the room.

Moments like these remind us why therapy dogs are so special. They bring comfort, connection, and a little bit of magic wherever they go

Dogs are great therapy animals. They are also loving, loyal visitors who bring warmth and smiles. Their friendly nature encourages conversation and connection, helping residents feel more at ease. Many older adults enjoy reminiscing about pets from the past, making dogs a familiar and comforting presence in residential aged care homes.

Engaging with pets has many benefits – it can reduce feelings of loneliness, ease worries, encourage people to get up, walk, pat or play, and foster social connection.

Injilinji Corporation CEO, Pattie Lees, has arranged for Jeff and Kara to again visit Injilinji Aged Care and bring joy to the Residents and staff once a month.
